About the Teacher:
I grew up in Newport News, Virginia during my childhood and undergraduate studies. After graduating from Christopher Newport University, I met my husband Michael. Michael was already accepted to Arizona State University and moved to Arizona after completing his enlistment in the U.S. Navy. Soon after, we were married which began my transition to Arizona. During Michael's schooling years, I taught third grade for one year and secondary math for three. I also earned my Masters in Education from ASU during this time. A year after Michael graduated from ASU, I paused my teaching career to stay home with our two children. Ruth and Samuel attended West Valley Christian School for years prior to my employment at the school. After returning to teaching secondary math for two years, I decided to apply to West Valley Christian School. This is my third year teaching fifth grade at WVCS, which I love!
On a personal note, I keep super busy with my family. You will often find us at baseball games, soccer games, swim meets, piano lessons, and running events. I really enjoy running events from 5ks to marathons and am glad that the rest of my family has caught the running addiction. I also enjoy scrapbooking, baking, and many other crafts that allow me to get my creative juices flowing.
I am super excited to get started with this new school year and to see what God has planned! I also look forward to getting to know each of my students and guiding them to their highest potential this year!
